The International Cetacean Sanctuary, established in 1993 by a pact between Italy, France and the Principality of Monaco, is the Mediterranean area most densely populated by cetaceans.
Many years of experience by the crew of M/n Corsara now allow them to reach an annual average of 2 sightings per excursion, an excellent result considering that these are free-ranging animals.
Cetacean sightings
The excursion (4 hours) aims to search for and admire the marine mammal species of the International Cetacean Sanctuary in their natural habitat.
In about 30 minutes of navigation into the open sea, having reached a depth of about 2000 metres, the exploration begins. A marine biologist is on board to comment on the sightings.
